Qualifications
  • Possess credentials in one or more of laboratory management, quality practices, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, toxicology, radiochemistry, microbiology, air analysis or asbestos analysis;
  • Have at least five years relevant experience;
  • Hold a university degree or technical diploma;
  • Work in a laboratory or laboratory-related environment;
  • Possess good organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment
  • Conduct at least six CALA assessments on a volunteer basis, over a three year period;
  • Attend an approved 36 hour Lead Auditor/Lead Assessor training course;
  • Attend biennial (refresher) CALA specific training courses.
NOTE: CALA will fund all assessor related travel, training and certification as a RABQSA certified auditor.


We encourage you to submit an application form as well as your resume to Ms. Karen Smith (ksmith@cala.ca).  However, please note that meeting the qualifications and requirements does not guarantee acceptance as an assessor, as the number of volunteers required is dependent on CALA program needs at the time of application.
