Highlights of the 2003 Annual General Meeting
|
Below, Ms. Rosa Gonzalez a CAEAL assessor, receives the Serge Villard Award from CAEAL's President, James Downie. Ms. Gonzalez the fourth recipient of the Serge Villard Award (formerly the "CAEAL Recognition Award") which is presented at CAEAL's AGM to a CAEAL Assessor (or to a member of the CAEAL Advisory Panel) in recognition of exceptional contributions to CAEAL as an assessor or as a member of the Panel, or both.Rosa is the Laboratory Superintendent for the City of Hamilton Environmental Laboratory. She has done 15 assessments on behalf of CAEAL since 1997, and is a National Quality Institute (NQI) certified auditor. Rosa has demonstrated great commitment to the program and provided exceptional service, especially in doing assessments on behalf of the SCC/CAEAL/PAHO program. Rosa untiringly travels to Peru, and has been a great ambassador of the program in Latin America, leading 2-3 assessments per trip. Sources tell us that she puts an incredible amount of time and energy into organizing and preparing for these assessments, which involves doing the document review and assessment in Spanish! We also know that she's gone the extra step of actually translating assessment reports in Spanish for some of our Peruvian members, which was appreciated by the lab staff. The feedback received from the laboratories on the teams she has led has always been positive, and they appreciated her good nature and technical expertise. The late Mr. Villard was a long-time contributor to CAEAL. As one of CAEAL's originating director's, Mr. Villard served CAEAL in various Board Officer roles and retired from the CAEAL Board in 1999. Congratulations Rosa! ![]()
